Freedom from Emotional Eating

"Are you an Emotional Eater?"

This e-course represents my own journey to freedom in the area of emotional eating and it has been quite an experience!  The tools and knowledge I have gained from my experiences will provide you with a springboard as you start your own journey to freedom in this area.

Let's look at what defines emotional eating.  Does any of this sound familiar to you?

  • "I NEED chocolate"
  • "This stress is killing me…what can I eat?"
  • "I'm depressed…I need some ice cream"
  • "I'm SO tired…I need caffeine"
  • "I'm bored…restless…angry…where's the food?"

Emotional eating is when you use food to comfort yourself, ease negative emotions, relieve stress, etc. The problem with using food to manage your emotions is that it actually keeps you in state of anxiety and stress because you are using the wrong tool.  Have you ever thought about the fact that you are actually trying to help yourself but you are just using the wrong tool to assist you?  Something I learned from my own life coach is that when we eat from an emotional need, we are really just using the wrong tool to deal with the emotion we are feeling.  If you are overweight, it isn’t a lack of discipline, or a lack of willpower.

Those negative thoughts will only keep you in a cycle of emotional eating.  If those words have been spoken over you by family, friends, etc., do me a BIG favor and “reject” them from going into your mind.  Do you get up and go to work?  Do you brush your teeth every day?  Clean your house?  Pay your bills?  If so, then you DO have self-discipline.  Being overweight rarely has anything to do with a lack of discipline because the majority of us practice some form of self-discipline every day of our lives.
